Tramore – Kilkenny – Dublin

  • by

Today’s Distance: 120 mi/ 193 km

TOUR DESCRIPTION: On the last leg of your journey on the way to Dublin, visit Kilkenny to wander the Medieval Mile and learn about its Norman heritage.

OUR THOUGHTS: Final day on the bus! Kilkenny was the only stop on our way back to Dublin. It turned out to be one of our favourite stops. Bizz and I had hoped to have a Kilkenny in Kilkenny but it was too early on a Sunday morning. This was a medieval town with a great castle.

We then had a little wander downtown and Bizz had an altercation with a rook.

The final stop was an afternoon in Dublin where we returned to Grafton Street. It’s a great car free street with lots of people and shops.

We had some wine, Guinness with dinner, and took a Jamison back to the room. Bruce Springsteen is playing at the outdoor arena for 90,000 down the street from our hotel so the music is coming into our room as I write. A perfect ending to a great trip with our mom.

Early flight tomorrow so good night and thanks for following us.

Nice to see that you got so much sunshine for your last full day in Ireland.
    Safe travels home.

  2. Thanks for letting us join you vicariously in your travels.
Looks like ample and appropriate amounts of Guinness were consumed and the trip went way too fast.
    Safe travels home.
