With a healthy supply of product on hand it’s time to play with some other ideas. I always regretted giving away my silk screen gear and now wondered if I could do something similar using letterpress. I love my paradise line and wondered how both the linocut map and wood type would print on canvas. I also had a can of block printing ink on hand. Well, first try looks promising. I think the imagery is too big/too close to the edges and it’s hard to hold that large a solid patch of ink. I like where it is going and am willing to carve my third block of the island shape for another try. The ink seemed to take a long time to dry but the patio umbrella proved to be a perfect drying rack on this beautiful fall afternoon.
