Itinerary Notes: Sloths are one of Costa Rica’s most iconic animals, and there’s nothing better than seeing one of these creatures lazily hanging off trees or slowly making their way to fruit. This tour highlights the best of this experience. Here you can find both two-toed and three-toed sloths, either sleeping on trees or hanging out in branches. There is also a variety of natural wonders to enjoy in addition to these animals, like lush vegetation, exotic birds like toucans, and local reptiles like iguanas.

I think we were all thrilled to have a guide. There was no way we would have spotted anything. Everything was so camouflaged. Even better, once spotted, they used their high powered camera to take the shots. Much better than our phones. Also impressive was the guide’s knowledge. They all go to tourism college and then need to pass exams to attain a guide license.
Facts learned: 1. sloths come down the tree to poop. If they do it up high, it spreads their scent to predators. 2. Sloths do one thing fast – mating. 3. The rufous-tailed jacamar is the largest humming bird.
