Porto 4

Thursday, March 07

Our beautiful first hotel exterior. Those tiny terrace were so lovely. And, that rooftop patio!!!

Today we said goodbye to our beautiful room in old Porto. We moved a few km’s north to another hotel where our bikes were being delivered. The new hotel is not nearly as nice as the first one. Modern, but our room looks over the mall food court with loud music. The other issue for me is no coffee in the room!

Sadly it’s cold and rainy today and no hope of a reprieve for a few days. Wet and narrow cobblestone streets to start our ride south tomorrow has us a little nervous. Haven’t seen a lot of cyclists in the downtown. Just impatient delivery people on scooters and cars that seem to make up their own rules.

The one highlight of today was a stroll in the rain though one of Porto’s oldest cemeteries. Amazing family crypts.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow’s ride.
