Today started with a Metro ride over to Pére la Chaise cemetery. An amazing place with miles of famous and not so famous residents. Edith Piaf, Jim Morrison, Oscar Wilde, Gertrude Stein to name a few. My second visit and I would go back again.

Next we wandered through the Marais towards Notre Dame to check on the restoration progress. I can’t see how they hope to be open for Christmas 2024.

We continued along the Seine to the Musee d’Orsay. Last time I was there we just walked in. No longer. The no ticket line wait was two hours. Even the people with timed tickets were in long lines. No tickets available for the rest of the week. Too bad, I wanted to see the Impressionist show they had.
We continued on to the area around the Eiffel Tower but never actual got that close to it. Instead we stopped in rue Cler for soup and a very pricey $9 latte. I have stayed in this area twice before and it’s lovely, but also very expensive for restaurants.
After a long day of walking (Colin’s Garmin watch says 16 km/ 19,740 steps) it was a metro ride back to the hotel.
