DUBROVNIK 2

Last full day in town. We decided upon an easy morning at the beach. We found a quiet beach in a nearby cove. Only issue was it was a very long climb down there. Most Croatian beaches are rocky. This one had a bit of sand and then these polished limestone pebbles. The water was a beautiful blue and not a bad temperature. Perfect for a swim. By 11am it started getting crowded so we hiked back uphill to the hotel. We had a swim in their pool but it was getting pretty hot out.

After a rest we ventured back to have a look at the remaining parts of old town.

Today was filled with music. The accordion guy in old town decided to serenade us with his stylized version of Hallelujah which didn’t really work. On the walk home we came upon a free performance of the Dubrovnik Symphony with an operetta performance. I’ve never heard of La Serva Padrona but they were really good and the walled park provided great acoustics.

That’s it for the European portion. Tomorrow we are off to Leeds England.
